Your wedding is a unique opportunity to invest in a beautiful, once in a lifetime gown, and I passionately believe that the very best option is to have a wedding dress that is designed and made just for you.

From my studio in Devon I make one-off wedding dresses in a style that is informed by historical and vintage styles, with whimsical and romantic detailing that will make you feel like you’ve just stepped out of a romance novel. From picking out your inspiration, sketching and picking fabric, all the way through to fittings and finishes, you’ll get to fall in love with your dress over and over. Choosing an Ailsa Munro dress means I will guide you through the whole process so that you can be comfortable and feel beautiful on your wedding day.

I love art history, fashion history, and Taylor Swift. I am always reading, and always looking for book recommendations because I never know what to read next. I have a Scottish name, English Accent and was born in Wales, I've lived in England for 10 years now and the things I miss most about Scotland are haggis and ceilidhs. I've got two little kids, and I love to pick them up from school and take them straight to the beach for sandy pasta and swimming in the sea.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a bespoke dress cost?

Your dress won't cost you more than a dress from a boutique, even though it is made bespoke for you! Prices usually range between £1,800 and £2,800, depending on the complexity of the dress and the cost of the fabric. See my pricing guide for more details.

How does ordering a bespoke dress work?

We meet up several times throughout the process, beginning with a no-obligation consultation. We select fabrics together, then to try the toile (a prototype made on cheaper fabrics) before a few fittings of the real thing! Read more about this process on my blog

How long does the process take?

It’s best to allow between 18 and 6 months. However, it is possible to take on commissions with less time.

What payment methods do you take?

I accept cash, cheque or BACS payments.

Do you have dresses to try?

Some of my collection dresses are available to try. If you are interested in a specific wedding dress, please tell me when you book your appointment.

Do I need to bring anything with me for a fitting?

I will provide everything that you need - although it is useful to bring the underwear you are planning on wearing for your special day to ensure that the fit of your dress is perfect.
